Question by danielpattiz: Can i replace my current processor with one out of another computer?
The current computer i am using has a very slow processor, but i have another computer with a better (3ghz) processor. I’m not using the other computer because NIC card is bad and it can’t go on the internet. I want to switch processors, but i’m not sure if i can just switch the processor, or if i have to switch the whole mother board too.

For a CPU swap to work, the motherboard you want to put the CPU into must have the same kind of socket and the right chipset support and VRM for that CPU.

Can’t tell you more without knowing which specific CPU you have and the specs of the motherboards.

Question by Agent S: Question about a processor when customizing a computer?
Its standard comes with a AMD Sempron(TM) LE1300 (2.3GHz) processor. But for 30 dollars more I could get a AMD Athlon(TM) LE1660 (2.8GHz) processor.
Is there a significant difference between the processors that I would notice?
This computer wouldn’t be used for extensive gaming or video editing.

The 500MHz difference would be noticeable on any program other than the most basic ones. That much of a speed bump on a single-core CPU is noticeable, and should give performance improvements by up to 20% – but with corresponding increase in power usage and heat output.
Is that worth the $ 30? Your choice.
