My Triple Monitor Computer Setup
UPDATE: YouTube won’t let me upload my new video without copyright issues on the audio, even though I have disputed it properly and it legally falls within fair use. Occupy YouTube. COMMENTS WILL REMAIN DISABLED SINCE THIS VIDEO IS OUTDATED! Little video showing off my computer setup! The song is a live version of Television Rules The Nation by Daft Punk. The “gay rainbow lights” are Christmas lights, this video was recorded and uploaded during the holiday season. If being festive is now gay, I guess the majority of everyone in North America is gay! Okay this set-up is amazing. I envy it!
If you could take the time to please answer my question I would highly appreciate it.
In order to have the set-up of 3 monitors as you do will I have to purchase another graphics card? I have one currently with vga, dvi, and hdmi.
My motherboard has onboard vga, dvi, and hdmi.
Is it possible to use the single pci-express card and utilze the onboard vga? To extend to a third monitor? Currently extending one from vga and main on dvi.

@JGO749 Most motherboards will disable the onboard graphics if you install a dedicated graphics card. If you have a new Intel Z68 chipset motherboard then you may be able to use both the onboard and dedicated.
I need a little more information for the rest of it. Is your dedicated graphics card AMD or Nvidia? You can only hook up two monitors to an Nvidia card (unless it’s a GTX 590, then you can do three), and you can do many more on a single AMD card. Admittedly I don’t know as much about AMD.

Thanks for the timely reply! What software do you use? :p

@JGO749 I use Nvidia Surround ((built into the graphics drivers) in combination with Matrox PowerDesk. PowerDesk lets you split your single large virtual monitor back up into three grids. Programs maximize to the monitor they’re in that way.

I recently swapped out the Saitek for a Logitech G110. I’m really liking it so far.

My favorite part was the inclusion of a “spectator chair” (the mustardy colored one) so you can show off your gaming skills.
Sweet setup man.

Damn dude! That’s definitely a nice setup. How long did it take you to save up for all that?
Xero852 on September 27, 2011 at 12:35 am
@Kiratsuchii Nice! Glad you liked it enough to watch it more than once!
Xero852 on September 27, 2011 at 12:36 am
@theTHANEshow The system was originally built in 2006 with one monitor and significantly less powerful hardware. Since then it has evolved quite a bit. Check out my new video called “My New Triple Monitor Computer Setup”. It shows what the system looks like today!

@lnZzane Indeed! Lots of people use multiple monitors for trading and marketing/business number crunching!
