How computers work in less than 20 minutes
All about how computers work in less than 20 minutes! Starting from the transistor and going up! We talk about processor design, how computers, do math, logic design, how memory is made, what a logic gate is, all the basics of digital design that go into making a processor.

I still miss using DOS. After it went away and systems with better operating systems came along, I’ve gotten rusty when it comes to fixing my PC’s.

i wish i fully understood this. amazing where we came from til now in technology in the last 100 years

Wow, only 446 views. Billions of views for Bruno Mars and Justin Beaver.
Just look at how pop culture has become the focus of millions. Computers? bleh… There are still people in my family who barely know how to use a mouse properly…. Meh, it’s not their fault, their a generation before us but I still think that if someone depends on something, they should try and become aware of how computers work and its effect on life in general.
I don’t like people specializing only on technology.

@grimslider75 yh not everyone is a geek like you and actually don’t give a shit about computers. Fuck your life. If the modern world breaks down where are you going to be? Crying in the corner of your house because there is no electricity for your precious PC?
grimslider75 on August 15, 2011 at 7:41 am
@spikedylacid
All I said was that, generally, people don’t know the technical workings of the technology that many of us depend on.
And I was commenting on a culture that focuses on what makes us feel good, rather than what makes us work good.
Your 1st statement is true. Your 2nd one is bewildering. 3rd, implies that I depend on computers for my well being (untrue IMO). 4th, an emotional effect of the loss of electricity (which is something that I wouldn’t do)
why did you react like that
spikedylacid on August 21, 2011 at 5:55 pm
@grimslider75 sorry bro. I dunno why i was so mad.

Its ok, blind rage happens to the best of us =)

Very interesting!

wow man, that was just what I was looking for, technically electricity controls our computer correct? I need to do some research on transistors for real.

Great explanation! Thank you for doing this. It was fascinating!

PropOgation delay??….Years of engineering classes?
It’s PropAgation delay. With an A.
eeg10 on January 22, 2012 at 1:03 am
@tiberio135 The point of the matter is that you still got the message. I mean it doesn’t take too much brainpower to deduce that when someone says propogation, that they really mean propagation. Spelling mistakes happen to the best of us.

I asked an engineer what time it was and he told me how to build a clock
EngineeringIsMagic on January 24, 2012 at 7:49 am
@MonoMilitiaMusic lol, I love that!

THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH ,,THAT EXPLAINS IT ALL ,, i wish my computer organization instructor was able to deliver any info like this to us !! now i understand what it’s all about ..
thank you again
